Vessel Series

I’m captivated by the storytelling traditions of Greek and Roman pottery with their bold contrasts and striking silhouettes.

Making us of a pile of paper scraps left over from larger drawings, rather than let them go to waste, I started experimenting. The result was a series of small 9x9 drawings.

What I love most about this project is the balance between ancient and contemporary. I found myself researching the shapes of old vessels, then imagining how to fit these figures into them.

The more I create, the more I realize this could become an ongoing series. Maybe even a zine one day!
