Ex Libris

I began reading as a hobby around 2022, which was also around the time I returned to drawing and started researching themes and inspiration more intentionally.

I’ve always been deeply inspired by the Art Nouveau movement, particularly the works of Aubrey Beardsley, Harry Clarke, Walter Crane, and Willy Pogány. Their bold lines, creepy sensuality, and mythic sensibility have influenced my approach.

This piece is my interpretation of an Ex Libris print, which is a decorative label that was traditionally pasted inside a book to indicate ownership. The text should read “The loss of knowledge means death," but my French may be rusty!
